Ep. 9 : Earl Grey Gravestones

Have you listened to Episode 9 yet? We dive into the murder of Jonbenet Ramsey, and of course we bake some treats in our Easy Bake Oven.

This week we baked up some spooky little gravestones! Infused with Earl Grey tea and lavender, they’re yummy little treats. So pull up Spotify, turn on Ep. 9, and bake with us!

Here’s the recipe to follow along:

- 10 T Flour
- 1/2 t Baking Powder
- 1/4 t Salt
- 10 t Sugar
- 1 T Lavender
- 1 Earl Grey Tea Packet
- 1/2 t Vanilla
- 8 t Vegetable Oil
- 16 t Milk
- Food Coloring (optional)

First things first, warm up your milk in a sauce pan. Be sure to stir regularly so no film forms on the surface. Once warm to the touch, steep your tea bag.

While your tea is steeping, grind up your lavender with your mortar and pestle. Feel free to say a little spell while you’re grinding to make it feel extra witchy.

Combine all ingredients, including your finely ground lavender and tea (sans bag.)

We wanted our gravestones to be extra spooky, so we tinted them a dark shade of purple. Using our rectangular EBO pan, we baked them for 15 minutes and let them cool before cutting out our shapes.

This recipe makes two gravestones, two layers a piece. Fill with a yummy buttercream (ours was blood red!) and decorate with pretty sprinkles!

Happy Haunting!
