Ep. 31 Vanilla Cake

Coven, please don't judge based on appearances this week... we promise this cake tastes much better than it looks! This simple vanilla cake recipe is easy and delicious. Just make sure you allow the cake to cool properly before trying to spread icing on it 😬

You'll need: ⁣
1/2 cup white sugar ⁣
1/4 cup butter (recipe calls for unsalted, but this is America and I (halee) believe firmly all butter should be salty butter) ⁣
1 egg ⁣
1 tsp vanilla⁣
3/4 cup all-purpose flour ⁣
1 tsp baking powder ⁣
1/4 cup milk ⁣

Cream sugar and butter together in a small bowl. Add egg, mix, and then stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking soda. Add to the wet ingredients and mix well. Add milk and stir until smooth. (You can do the fancy thing where you add some of the dry ingredients and some milk, and alternate until it's all added... but this is an easy bake oven cake. You don't have to take it too seriously.) ⁣
Pour batter into your tiny EBC cake pan (or a regular cookie sheet if you're using a normal sized oven!) and cook for about 10 minutes in an EBC or 25 ish minutes in a regular oven at 350 degrees. Follow whatever buttercream recipe you love most for the icing, and add some cute sprinkles and roses if you feel so inclined! ⁣
